Pedophiles and Child Abductors Ruin Everything
Whenever I’m in a situation where I’m around a cute little kid and I don’t know their parents, I get uncomfortable. On one hand, I want to watch the little kid and laugh cause cute little kids crack me up. But on the other hand, I can feel the eyes of their parents on me because I’m looking at their kid.
If it weren’t for pedophiles and child abductors, this would be a fun, harmless situation. I could talk to the kid, play with him/her, and even tell the parent they’re cute. But since I don’t have a badge that says “Don’t worry parents, I’m not a pedophile, I just think kids are cute” that’s signed by Oprah Winfrey and Doctor Phil, I’m a suspect and they can’t trust me.
I’m absolutely sure most of this is paranoia and most parents aren’t thinking like that. But either way, it still ruins it for me. So thanks a lot, pedophiles and child abductors, once again, you ruin everything.
UPDATE: I was watching the comedian Bill Burr’s “Why Do I Do This?” special and was pleased to see him discuss this very issue. He hit the nail on the head, and the fact that we each independently thought of this just proves how many of us feel the same way. Thanks Bill, here’s a link to the clip.
3 years agoand just some proof that neither of us influenced each other to write the material: mine was posted on August 7, 2008. His album was released August 8, 2008, and his special aired August 23, 2008.
